Best birthday gift
My 14 year old LOVED this book and she is not what you would call a reader. Disappointed the 2nd book is not out yet.
I love this book and can't wait for the next installment. (I hate that all books now seem to be trilogies.) Still this is a five star book. Main character is believeable, has some romantic tension without being smutty and plenty of action.
Written very well, fast pace but not too fast, voice is perfect for the story, all in all very good. The story line isn't too complex, however, it makes up for it in character interaction. I read all of her Valdimir Tod books and loved them, this does not disappoint.
I really enjoyed this book. In fact I bought it when it first came out because I really liked the authors other series. I found out recently that the series is cancelled. So don't read unless you don't mind that it dosent end.

Interesting world building- this was the best part..
Likeable heroine.
Yes- there is a love triangle. As usual there is the "nice" boy and the"bad" boy decision.
The big "reveal" on the last paragraph was easy to figure ou early on in the narrative.
Nothing too original but still a fun, light read.
I found this book to be one of the best I've ever read, it has all the qualities I look for in a good book.1)A strong willed rebellious main character. 2)A really good story line. 3)A unique made up world with politics and imperfections. 4)Good character building. 5)Action. 6) Comedy. 7)Romance. I absolutely loved this book.
But if you like me, can never only read one book in a series I would not recommend this book to you. Heather Brewer, the author stopped writing the second book and instead started a new series. This book leaves you at a cliff hanger and I have spent many hours over the period of two years weeping about this series. I have read the first book almost twelve times now and often spend entire afternoons wondering what is in the second book that was never released. So I give this book five stars but warn you that it is a dead end and I would not wish my misfortunes on anyone else, you have been warned.
